From Rebar3 to Rebar4
Integrating with Erlang/OTP
The Kickstarter campaign has ended and was successfully funded. Late pledges are open for digital support tiers. All tiers that include physical goods are closed.
Rebar3 is a widely used build tool in the BEAM community for compiling, dependency management, testing and releases. This campaign funds work to evolve Rebar3 into Rebar4 with closer alignment to Erlang/OTP across BEAM languages. The work prioritises using OTP native modules where practical, for example argparse for command line parsing, to reduce external dependencies and improve everyday workflows. Inclusion in OTP is an aim rather than a promise. Progress toward inclusion depends on reaching the relevant stretch goals and on approval by the OTP maintainers.
The campaign's success shows the BEAM community's commitment to funding open tools that solve real developer problems. Thank you to every backer and sponsor who supported the work toward Rebar4.
