Revolutionised Enhanced Supply Chain Automation with Limited Threats Exposure

We are proud to be a core partner in RESCALE (Revolutionised Enhanced Supply Chain Automation with Limited Threats Exposure), a forward-looking project funded by the EU's Horizon Europe programme. RESCALE addresses one of today's most critical cybersecurity challenges: the complexity and vulnerability of modern software and hardware supply chains. By combining advanced testing tools, real-time validation, and trusted data records, the project establishes a new standard for secure-by-design systems.

Our involvement focuses on real-world testing of RESCALE technologies in a production environment. We implement automated tools that verify the security of software early in development and continue to monitor it during runtime. These tools help generate a Trusted Bill of Materials (TBOM), a digital security passport that documents exactly what software is used, how it was tested, and whether it can be trusted. This ensures transparency, reliability, and security throughout the entire product lifecycle.

By helping shape and test the RESCALE platform, we're contributing to safer, smarter digital infrastructure. Our work supports industries in identifying vulnerabilities before they become threats, enhancing trust in the technologies that power everything from manufacturing to connected devices.

Project Consortium

Fifteen organisations led by the Athena Research and Innovation Center form the RESCALE consortium. Research teams from Fraunhofer AISEC, Fortiss, FBK and the University of Luxembourg SnT deliver static and dynamic-analysis tooling, while industrial partners SkyFlok, INLECOM and Hellenic Aerospace Industry supply cloud-storage, rail-automation and defence pilots. This mix of academic cryptographers, security-software vendors and real-world operators puts the RESCALE toolbox through its paces across three high-risk supply chains.
